Contract Timeline

 

 

August 27 ?31

 

Student petitions his or her instructor for support in the completion of an Honors Contract.

 

September 7

 

Proposal due in Honors office ? Student begins research

 

NOTE:  Contracts that are in some way deficient will be returned to the instructor who will be asked to work with the student to correct the deficiencies.

 

NOTE:  As soon as completed Honors Contracts are received by the Honors Office a new Honors section number for the class is created.  The student is taken out of the existing section and placed in the section.  All of this is transparent to the instructor up to the point that the instructor receives new rosters from Administration and Records

 

Late September 

 

First Meeting with Instructor

Research findings are presented to Instructor.  Student and instructor discuss the findings, other research that may need to be undertaken, and the paper that is to be written up.

 

Early November    

 

Second meeting with Instructor

First typed draft of the project write up is presented to the instructor  Student and instructor discuss the paper, agree on corrections and plan the presentation.

 

End of November   

 

Student presents project

(ideally the presentation is made to class)

 

December

 

Instructor receives a grading form from Honors Office which is completed and returned to Honors Office.
