I have been teaching full time at SCC for 6 years.  Prior to teaching I worked in the hospitality industry in sales and marketing for 12 years for Vista Host, Promus Hotels and Hilton Hotels.  I also have work experience in commercial and residential real estate management.  I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Communications from Western Michigan University and completed my Masters Degree in Business from the University of Phoenix.  I have been married for 18 years and have two children.  Originally from Michigan, however after living in Arizona for 17 years the desert is where I call home.  In my spare time I do volunteer work for Hope 4 Kids International and Project New Hope, both organizations care for orphaned children in 3rd world countries.

I am honored to be an instructor for one of the best hospitality and tourism schools in the southwest.  I have first hand work experience in all the subjects I teach and I love teaching!  What I enjoy the most is watching our students over a two year period grow interpersonally and learn more about an industry that can literately take them anywhere, and as far as they are willing to go!  I see a big change in many of our students as they discover through their course work what they want to do in the hospitality and tourism industry. 

You will also find me in the advisement center a few hours each week assisting our students in creating educational pathways to achieve their associates degree, as well as move on to bachelor programs through Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University and Les Roches Swiss School of Hotel Management.  So stop in and see me, or better yet make an appointment, to set your educational goals today!  Fall 2008 advisement hours are Mondays & Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Student Services Building - Advisement Center.
