SCC DUMPSTER DIVE

 

Here is the outcome of our first ever Dumpster Dive!

Trash collected: 730 lbs

Recyclables that we took out of the trash:

Paper: 240.5 lbs

Plastic: 172 lbs

Cans:  25.5 lbs

Other: 184 lbs

Total: 622 lbs

Acutally recycled that day:

Paper: 151lbs, (There were no cans/plastic bottles collected that day)

If we recycled all the recyclables that day we would have recycled 51.43% of our waste stream, but we actually just recycled 10.05%, still an improvement from last year.

Thanks to all who dug through the trash and helped collecting this data!
