Faculty Resources

This area will serve as a resource for faculty that would like to share their sustainability practices

It will provide you with a wiki to upload your ideas about infusing sustainability into the curriculum. You can exchange ideas with other faculty members at SCC or can even upload examples that you might think would be possible to introduce at our college.

We are looking forward to provide you with valuable information that you will be able to use in your classrooms.

As a member of AASHE ( Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education) one resource that you can already access is AASHE's "Faculty Development Resource Guide". At the link below, you will only have to enter your email address twice to confirm you belong to SCC and will be given your password with which you can access all the resources the organization provides.

Education for Sustainable Development pic

Education for sustainable development aims to help people to develop the attitudes, skills and knowledge to make informed decisions for the benefit of themselves and others, now and in the future, and to act upon these decisions.

The United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014), for which UNESCO is the lead agency, seeks to integrate the principles, values, and practices of sustainable development into all aspects of education and learning, in order to address the social, economic, cultural and environmental problems we face in the 21st century.
