Lisa J. Peace
I received my BFA in painting from the University of New Hampshire in 1992 and an MFA in painting from Arizona State University in 1998. I have been teaching at Scottsdale Community College for the past five years and find tremendous satisfaction in the classroom and interacting with students. As an active artist-teacher I bring both practical knowledge as well as theory to the classroom. My paintings and drawings are abstractions based on my experience of the natural world and the processes of life. They are an attempt to capture and find meaning in the intangible and ever-changing relationships within the patterns and structures of life itself. I have also participated in recent events at the Herberger Theatre, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Phoenix Library.
