INTERNSHIPS

SCC has an open entry, open exit internship policy, although, over half of our internships begin and end on the semester schedule. Placement continues throughout each term.

Most of the Film School @ SCC student interns are enrolled in the Editing and Television Broadcasting track of study. These students work for local stations. There are sometimes opportunities for film production and screenwriting students.

The number of internships available fluctuates with business conditions in the area. Generally about 15 are available each semester although there have been more on some occasions.

Students interested in applying for an internship should contact Chris Jensen (480-423-6329). Students must first be matched up with an employer offering an internship and then, working with Mr. Jensen and the Cooperative Education office on campus, determine the extent of the work and the educational goals to be met. Once the employer, the faculty supervisor and the student agree to a plan, one, two, or three hours of college credit can be earned when the internship is successfully completed.
