Academic
Advisors assist in: |
- providing an overview of the collegiate process,
with class and program information.
- developing a plan to reach your educational and
life goals
- advising you how best to select and schedule classes
- evaluating transcripts for applicability to program
of study
- interpreting academic policies/procedures
- completing required forms such as the Student
Information Form and the Registration
Form.

for your advisement appointment: |
- Ask questions; learn all you can about your
college experience.
- Understand
the academic requirements in the General
Catalog
- Make appointment
with your advisor as soon as class
schedules are available for the upcoming semester.
- Enroll early
for best selection of course.
- Don't overbook
your schedule. Plan on 2 hours per week of study time for each
credit hour.
- Know deadlines
for graduation application and university transfer.
- Bring your
transcripts, test scores and check sheets.
- Use the Course
Equivalency Guide to review possible course transfer options.
- Make your
own decisions when selecting courses.
- Keep records of your academic
plan and your progress.
