Step 1

Get Admitted

Set up your Student ID, MEID and password at OnlineIn person

You will use your MEID to log on to all student tools and Student ID for registration and academic support. Go to and select 'New Student? Click Here.' ​Visit the Welcome Center for in-person assistance.

Verifying your identity is important, that is why we ask you to provide a government-issued photo ID in-person at Admissions and Records, or online at

Verify Citizenship/Lawful Presence and Residency. OnlineIn person

To determine eligibility for in-state tuition, you must provide documentation verifying your citizenship status (required by law) and residency in-person at Admissions and Records, or online at prior to the start of the semester.

Log in to your online Student Center at, then select ‘MCCCD Admissions’ to complete admissions online, or you can complete a Student Admission Application and submit it to Admissions and Records.
A photo ID is required for in-person transactions.

Activate your Maricopa email account. Online

Log in to your online Student Center at and select ‘Official Student Email’. Follow the steps indicated to activate your account. Your Maricopa email address will be your This is the only email address the college uses for official correspondence.
Be sure to also check your ‘Message Center’ in your online Student Center.

Step 2

Take the Placement Test

Take the ACCUPLACER placement test (Approx. 2 1⁄2 hours). In person

New students must take all three sections (WritePlacer, Reading Comprehension & Math) of the placement test before registering. Photo ID and SCC Student ID number are required for all testing.

Step 3

Attend New Student Orientation, Seek Academic Advisement and Register for Classes

New college students: Attend a SOAR session (Approx. 3 hours). In person

All new students must attend SOAR (Scottsdale New Student Orientation, Advising & Registration) to get advised and register for classes. Registration after a class starts will not be permitted. Students must be enrolled in a class and in attendance on the first day of class.

Students with prior college credit: Meet with an advisor & register for classes. OnlineIn person

Bring unofficial transcripts of all college coursework completed to meet with an academic advisor in the Academic and Career Advising Center. No appointment is needed to see an advisor. After meeting with an Advisor, register for classes:
Online: Log in to your online Student Center page at and select ‘Add a Class’
In-Person: Complete a registration form and submit it to Admissions and Records

​Pay Tuition and Fees

Create a plan to pay for your tuition & fees. OnlineIn person

Tuition is due 35 days prior to the class start date or the same day you register if it is fewer than 35 days to the class start date. Payment options include cash, check, credit card, or payment plan.

Log in to your ‘Student Center’ at and click ‘Account Inquiry’ under the ‘Finances’ section to view tuition payment due dates and refund deadlines.


Get Ready For Classes

Stay updated with your financial aid and scholarships.

It is very important that you log in to your online Student Center at to view your Message Center and To Do List for important updates on the status of your financial aid on a regular basis. For questions, contact the Financial Aid Answer Center, (855) 622-2332 or visit the SCC Financial Aid office, SS 141.

Set up a payment plan for your tuition & fees.

Once you have registered for classes, payment plans are available and can be set up online by logging in to your Student Center at
