Are You Transitioning From High School? If you are a student with a disability who is transitioning from high school to college you will find that the laws that apply to services are now different. Many parents of students with disabilities have learned the basics of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA). However, as students prepare to transition from secondary to postsecondary schools they often find they are less familiar with the protections provided by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
