Mike Rooney has been associated with community college education since 1958. He received an AA degree from Highland Community College, a B.A. degree in English from Washburn University, an M.Ed degree in Counseling and Student Personnel Work from the University of Hawaii, a Specialist degree in Counseling and Student Services Administration from California State University at Los Angeles, and a Ph.D degree in Counseling and Higher Education from St. Louis University. Mike has taught at every level of education, from the elementary through graduate school. His administrative experience ranges from a Director of Counseling in the St. Louis Community Colleges to Vice President of Student Development in the Dallas County Community Colleges to District Director of Student Development Services in the Maricopa County Community Colleges. During his lengthy career, he has served on numerous local, regional, and national boards, committees, task forces and commissions. Mike has published journal articles, book chapters, and monographs on a wide array of professional topics.
