Scientific Name: Catostomus insignis
Residency: Native to the Gila and Bill Williams River systems in Arizona, Mexico, and New Mexico.
Habitat: Rocky Pools of medium to small rivers and creeks.
Diet: Aquatic insects, plants, and algae.
Breeding: Spawning occurs late winter through summer; eggs are deposited among gravel where they incubate.
Status: Not listed as threatened, declining in the southern half of its range.
