Sonoran Ground Snake

Scientific Name: Sonora semiannulata
Temporal Activity: In mild weather can be active day or night, at warmer temperatures they become nocturnal, during winter months they become dormant.
Diet: Invertebrates and lizards
Predators:  Preyed upon by hawks, owls, coyoyes, and ringtails.
Breeding: In spring males will fight one another to mate with a female, the female lays up to six eggs in late spring or early summer.
Vegetation Association: Can be found in a variety of vegetation communities.
Notes: This species has mildly toxic saliva but it is not considered dangerous to humans.
