Peach-faced Lovebird

Scientific Name: Agapornis roseicollisPFlovebirdSCC022507

Residency: An exotic, introduced species that has been sighted in urban areas throughout Phoenix and Tucson.

Diet: Eats seeds, berries, flowers, and fruit.

Predators: May be preyed upon by snakes and hawks, but no known natural predators.

Nesting: Nest is a cavity found in a cactus, tiles of a roof, or cracks in a house. Fronds are used for building material. Eggs: 7 per clutch, multiple broods per year.

Notes: Population has established from release of caged birds. Will feed each other.
