Scientific Name: Stelgidopteryx serripennis
Residency: Summers are spent throughout most of the state, year-round in Southwest corner.
Diet: Eats insects while flying.
Predators: Young and adults are preyed upon by toads, frogs, snakes, and mammals.
Nesting: Nest is made of grass, leaves, twigs, moss and straw. It is placed in a cavity such as a cave or a drainpipe. It lays 4-8 white eggs per clutch, and has 1 brood per year.

Notes: After breeding season they will form large flocks that roost together in marshes or fields.
