Longnosed or Longnose Snake

Scientific Name: Rhinocheilus lecontei
Temporal Activity: Primarily nocturnal.
Diet: Small mammals, lizards and their eggs, small snakes, and occasionally birds.
Predators:
Breeding:
Depending on the climate one to two clutches of four to eleven eggs are laid.
Vegetation Association: Chaparral, grassland, desert scrub, and tropical areas.
Notes:  This snake is sometimes confused with the venomous coral snake.
