Aythya affinis Residency: Winters in Southwestern corner of state. Diet: Eats seeds, snails, insects and crustaceans. Predators: American Crow, Black-billed Magpie, Great Horned Owl, Coyote, striped skunk, and Red-tailed Hawk. Nesting: Nest is on the ground and hidden, made of grasses and lined with down.
