Scientific NameChordeiles acutipennis
Residency:  Summers throughout all of state except North-east corner.
Diet:  Eats flying insects.
Predators:  Egg predators include Striped skunk, coyote, and snakes. 
Nesting:  On ground, on sides of canyons or arid lowlands.   Eggs are 2 per clutch, grayish with dots, 1 brood per year.

Notes:  Male has white band near tip of tail.
