Diet:  Larvae feed on decaying plants, roots and manure.  Adults feed on pollen, ripening fruits and the fruit and leaves of shrubs.
Vegetation Association:  Adults are attracted to decaying ripe fruit.
Predators: 

Life Stages:  Complete metamorphosis; egg, larvae, pupae, adult.

Notes:  Larvae can be pests when destroying the roots of certain plants.
