Scientific Name: Tringa melanoleuca
Residency: Winters in southern Arizona.
Diet: Eats fish, insects, worms, snails and berries.
Predators: Red-tailed Hawk is a predator, may also be preyed upon by American Crow, Northern Harrier, Merlin, and Peregrine Falcon.
Nesting: Nest is a depression in the ground. Eggs: 4 per clutch, buff with marks, 1 brood per year.
Nesting Records:
Notes: Twice the size of the Lesser Yellowlegs, will give Broken-Wing display when predators are near.
