Scientific Name: Arizona elegans Temporal Activity: Nocturnal, hibernates in winter and fall. Diet: Primarily lizards but small mammals will also be consumed. Predators: Breeding: Mating occurs in spring, in summer clutches as small as three and as large as twenty-three eggs are laid Vegetation Association: Creosote-mesquite desert, sagebrush flats, oak-hickory woodland, and coastal chaparral.
