Scientific Name: Libellula saturata Order: Odonata Family: Libelluidae Diet: Naiads eat aquatic insects such as mosquito larvae, aquatic fly larvae, mayfly larvae, and freshwater shrimp. They also eat small fish and tadpoles. Adults eat soft-bodied insects including, mosquitoes, flies, butterflies, moths, mayflies, flying ants and termites. Vegetation Association: Found near warm ponds, slow streams, and almost always around hot springs. Naiads live on the bottom of warm ponds, streams, and springs in the mud.
