Scientific Name: Phalacrocorax auritus
Residency: Summers in western part of Arizona.
Diet: Eat mostly fish.
Predators: Corvids and Coyotes prey upon young. Bald Eagles and Great-horned Owl prey upon adults.
Nesting: Nest is in a tree or on ground and is a platform made of sticks and seaweed, lined with twigs and grass. They are colonial. Eggs: 2-7 per clutch, pale blue, 1 brood per year.
Nesting Records:
Notes: Flocks fly in line or V formation. After fishing they stand with wings spread to dry.
