Scientific Name:  Ammophila sp.

Order:  Hymenoptera
Family:  Sphecidae
Diet:  Larvae feed on insects that have been paralyzed by adults.  Adults feed on nectar.
Vegetation Association:  Nests in the ground
Predators: 
Life Stages: Complete metamorphosis; egg, larva, pupa, adult.  
Notes:  They are solitary insects that are valuable on agriculture and in controlling other insect species.
