Desert Iguana

Scientific Name: Dipsosaurus dorsalis forhomepage1
Temporal Activity: Diurnal
Diet: Mostly herbivorous feeding on leaves and flowers of plants such as creosote, will also consume insects and carrion on occasion
Predators:
Breeding:
Breeding occurs from April to May in late May to early July two to ten eggs are laid under the right conditions two clutches may be laid
Vegetation Association: Most common in dry creosote flats
Notes: Desert iguanas are adapted well to extreme heat and can be seen at temperatures up to 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
