Scientific Name: Selasphorus platycercus
Residency: Summers through all of state except southwest corner.
Diet: Feeds on flower nectar, spiders, insects, tree sap, and hummingbird feeders.
Predators: Unknown.
Nesting: Nest placed on limb 5-15 ft. high. It is made of willow or cottonwood seeds, covered with bark, and held together with spiders silk. Eggs: 2 per clutch, white, 1-2 broods per year.
