Black Vulture

Scientific Name: Coragyps atratus

Residency: Year-round in southern Arizona.

Diet: Scavenges on carrion.

Predators: Eagles, large owls and hawks. Dogs and American Crows take eggs.

Nesting: Nests on bare ground in cave, cliff ledge, in hollow stump, or under vegetation. Eggs: 1-3 per clutch, pale greenish white with dark marks. One brood per year.
