?Native winter annual herb

?Flowers are orange in color fading throughout the day

?Flowers are visited by at least 46 species of bees, wasps, flies and butterflies

?Germinates after soaking summer rain and begins flowering three weeks later

?Stems vine along the ground

?Medicinal uses for hives, rashes, eye infections or gastrointestinal problems

?Found on roadsides, open plains, desert slopes and mesas
