Astronomy is the branch of physics that studies celestial bodies and the universe as a whole. It is the science involving the observation and theories about the solar system, the stars, the galaxies, and the general structure of space. Astronomy also includes cosmology, which is the study of the structure, origin, and evolution of the universe.
Hotel and Resort Job Fairs
At the beginning of each semester, SCC's Hospitality and Tourism program hosts an industry job fair with 30-40 hotels, resorts, private clubs, and other firms represented. The event provides students with opportunities to meet directly with industry professionals. The job fairs also include a variety of career workshops.
Northern Arizona University
The SCC/NAU Partnership enables students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Northern Arizona University without leaving the Valley of the Sun. Up to 75 credit hours may be transferred from SCC. Upper division courses are offered by NAU on the SCC campus.
Q. Who must take this training?
A. Anyone that serves, sells, or furnishes spirituous liquor to a retail customer should take the class to become more familiar with Arizona laws. However, taking the class is required only of management personnel. New laws will require that at least one person with Alcohol Law Certification be present in the licensed establishment at all times.
