The Salt River Junior ACE Program
The Salt River Junior ACE Program is a collaborative effort between Scottsdale Community College and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Community Schools. The Salt River Junior ACE Program engages 5th through 8th grade students in a program that benefits them with college-related activities. A one-week and two-week summer session are offered at Scottsdale Community College. Participants and their families are also invited to a fall activity and a spring activity.
To apply to the program, you need to complete an ACE application packet. The packet consists of the program application, SCC Student Information Form, two letters of recommendation, a written essay, and an unofficial high school transcript. The letters of recommendation must come from adults who are not related to the student. Teachers*, counselors, coaches, and employers are individuals who have helped with letters of recommendation in the past.
*At least one recommendation must be from an academic high school teacher.
Achieving a College Education (ACE) is a nationally recognized, scholarship-based early outreach and college preparation program for high school students. The ACE Program targets students who may not consider going to college.
