Cooperative Education Advisory Committee

 MISSION STATEMENT

Promote and develop quality training opportunities in the business community; integrate Cooperative Education in the college curriculum; promote Cooperative Education to the college community including students, faculty, and staff; and develop relationships with the high schools in the community.

The Cooperative Education Advisory Committee serves an integral role in the growth and success of the program. The committee, formed in December 1992, is composed of members representing the business and education communities. Meetings are held four times each year; subcommittees meet more often for specific activities. Members provide direction for the program with data about job openings and employment trends. They help market the program to students and employers through special events. Professional development seminars for co-op students are planned and presented by committee members each fall and spring semester.

In 1996, the State Council on Vocational Education recognized the Scottsdale Community College Cooperative Education Advisory Committee as the most Outstanding Local Advisory Council in Arizona.
