DISBURSEMENT OF FINANCIAL AID / SCHOLARSHIP CHECKS

All Financial Aid / Scholarship Checks are mailed directly to the student at the address established with Admissions and Records and are not forwarded by the US Post Office. (NOTE - If your address is out of state, this will delay the disbursal of your check.)

Checks are mailed 10 days prior to the start of the semester if:

• Financial Aid has awarded you and the funds are available.
   
• Stafford Loans entrance interview has been completed.
   
• The minimum credit hours required by the Financial Aid Office begin the first week of the semester. Classes that begin later in the semester will delay the release date.
   
• All debts to the MCCCD District have been cleared. Release dates will be delayed if you have a debt with any MCCCD college.

NOTE: Your Financial Aid / Scholarship money will first be applied to your tuition and fees. Any unpaid portion is the responsibility of the student.
