Excursions

DaretonRoos DSC
Dareton is located in New South Wales between the cities of Mildura and Wentworth where the Darling River splits from the Murray River.  Just outside of Dareton is the aboriginal community where a mob of the indigenous people live.  Still, many live in the town itself and wherever you go you will see a high aboriginal presence.  Students will have the wonderful opportunity to experience and learn directly from aboriginal people themselves.  Students will be able to work with the aboriginal students or community members in several capacities throughout the program.

Students will also have the chance to see many kangaroos, emus and birds while in Dareton.  In addition to the wildlife, students will be able to visit many aboriginal sites that have been in left in their natural state.

Student Testimonial
"Being here on this ancient Land, I'm only beginning to understand, the way of life for the people here; and Cultures and Traditions they hold so dear. The world seems so vast, and I treasure the chance I've had to view the night sky, as Ancient Aboriginals have in the past. As I sit near a fire, and don't make a sound, I listen to all the Outback noises in the air around. I start to reflect on my own people's history, and hope that one day our ancient ways will survive, and not vanish into a mystery."
