Students will gain knowledge and understanding of the connection indigenous people share through immersion in an aboriginal community. Students will experience living, working, and creating art with the indigenous peoples of Australia.

Students will receive credits for following courses:
AIS 103 Introduction to Indigenous Cultures 1 credit The course will intoduce students to political, economic, and social structures of indigenous peoples of Australia and the United States. This course meets before students travel to Australia for four Friday afternoons in April (2009 Spring Semester).
AIS 282AC Volunteerism for Indigenous Studies 3 credits Students will be immersed in a service learning field experience within private/public agencies, educational institutions, governmental entities, arts and national parks. Prerequisite: AIS 103
