MATCH #7 - SCC Earns First Victory of 2005

The Scottsdale women's soccer team earned its first victory of the 2005 season with a 2-1 overtime win against South Mountain.

In an ACCAC battle of winless teams, SScottsdale broke a scoreless tie midway through the second half on a goal by freshman Hali Nye. The goal was assisted by sophomore Kara Stoughton. South Mountain countered with a tying goal late in the period to send the match into overtime.

The Artichokes tallied the match-winning goal in the opening minutes of overtime to earn the victory.

With the win, SCC is now 1-6 as it completes the first half of regular season play. The Artichokes will host Mesa on Saturday, September 24th, at 12:00 pm.
