SCC Gains ACCAC Co-Championship

The battle for ACCAC Volleyball Conference Champion and the right to host Region I Tournament proved to be a dramatic event as predicted. SCC hosted Glendale on Friday night in a match that would determine both the ACCAC Volleyball Championship and site of the upcoming Region I Tournament. The tides of the match shifted back and forth as both teams entertained the crowd with explosive play. SCC fell behind in game won losing to GCC 25-30, but quickly countered with a 30-24 victory in game two. Game three and four were near mirror images of the first two with GCC securing game 3 (25-30) and SCC battling to stay in the match with a 30-28 game four win. The fifth and deciding game secured the victory for SCC (15-9)

The Region I Tournament will begin Thursday, November 3rd and conclude with championship play on Saturday, November 5th. SCC (#1 seed) will compete against Mesa (#4 seed) in the first round of play on Thursday, November 3rd at 7:00 pm. The tournament is a double elimination format.

The winner of the Region I Tournament earns a berth to the NJCAA National Tournament which is hosted by SCC, November 17-19th.
