SCC Hands Victory to Phoenix College

The SCC women?s soccer squad gave Phoenix College an early 1-0 lead on an own goal and went on to fall 2-1.

The Artichokes inadvertently placed the ball into their own net on an attempted clear in the 21st minute of the opening half.

Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Leslie Urtiaga got Scottsdale on the board to close the gap to just one goal with the final minutes ticking down. The Artichokes had a clean shot on goal in the closing minute but the shot and SCC's hopes of extra time sailed wide.

Coach Inoue is still encouraged by the effort and determination she sees in her team. SCC will travel to South Mountain on Wednesday in an effort to improve their record.
