The heat was on Saturday as Phoenix College and Scottsdale battled the noon start under the blazing sun.

Both teams battled tough the entire game, but PC's Bears took a 1-0 lead late in the first half.

"We had played quite well in the first half, said Coach Berry.  "We moved the ball around well, but did not ask enough of the Phoenix keeper by putting pressure on the net."

With fifteen minutes to play in regulation, Matt Gracey scored his first goal for Scottsdale to tie the match at 1-1.  The 'Chokes looked revitalized after the equalizer, but a counter attack goal by Phoenix ended the match in a 2-1 loss.
