FORMER SCOTTSDALE FOOTBALL PLAYER NFL HEAD COACH: Mike Mc Carthy the current Head Football Coach of the Green Bay Packers professional football team played two years for the Artichokes in 1983 and 1985 as a tight end. He later transferred to Baker University in Kansas where he played to years and started his coaching career.
McCarthy a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native had coaching stops at University of Pittsburgh (1989-91) Kansas City Chiefs (1993-1998) Green Bay Packers as quarterback coach(1999) New Orleans Saints Offensive Coordinator (2000-2004) San Francisco 49ers Offensive Coordinator (2005) Green Bay Packers Head Coach (2006-present). He is the 14th head coach for the storied Green machine.While at New Orleans he earned USA Today NFC Assistant Coach honors in 2000. After five seasons (2000-2004), he left as the most successful offensive coach in its history. Under his direction, the offense set 10 team records and 25 individual marks.

PETE, STEVENSON EARN WSFL HONORS: After leading Scottsdale to a 48-28 victory over Arizona Western, Dwight Pete and Michael Stevenson earned WSFL Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively. Pete ran for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Stevenson posted 16 tackles, broke up two passes, recovered a fumble and had an interception. | More |
SCC IMPROVES TO 2-0 WITH ROUT OF AZ WESTERN: The Artichokes scored 28 points in the opening half and closed strong with 13 points in the fourth quarter for a 48-28 non-WSFL victory over Arizona Western. #23 'CHOKES OPEN 2007 WITH IMPRESSIVE WIN: Scottsdale, ranked 23rd in the NJCAA's preseason Top-25, opened the 2007 season with a 29-3 drubbing of WSFL member Phoenix College. This game was a non-conference matchup as the two will square off again in the final regular season game for both squads.
