ARTICHOKES WIN SECOND CONFERENCE GAME OVER PIMA:Shooting a blazing 54 percent the Artichokes led by LJ Jones's 18 points and 16 rebounds defeated Pima College 95 to 87.The Chokes had 5 players in double figures.
SNOW COLLEGE DERAILS CHOKES IN SEMIFINALS OF DAYS INN CHRISTMAS TOURNEY:Despite a 22 point & 9 rebounds affort by LJ Jones the Chokes got behind 35 to 27.They could not make up the difference as they fell to the Badgers of Snow College 69 to 54. They play Eastern Utah for 3rd place.
ARTICHOKES BEAT CENTRALIA FOR FIRST WIN:Behind the 19 points and 11 rebounds from freshmen LJ Jones & 16 points 7 rebounds by Andy Klein as the Artichokes broke to a 43 to 25 halftime lead finishing with a much deserved 82 to 63 victory.

ARIZONA WESTERN SHOOTS PAST ARTICHOKE:The Matordors shot a blistering 53% from the field to cruse to 41 to 19 half-time lead. Behind hot shooting of Alonzo the Brandon (16 Ist half points) the Matordors were in control of the game from start to finosh.Freshmen LJ Jones and Sophomore Jesus Mora lead in scoring with 15 points while Jones grabbed 8 rebounds.
YAVAPAI COLLEGE ROUGH UP ARTICHOKES:In its fourth conference game the Artichokes ran into an inspired Yavapai Roughriders basketball team as they broke a 2 point game into a 20 points halftime led (45-25).The chokes were able to play even with the Roughriders the second half as each time scored 44 points.The final Roughriders 89 and Artichokes 69. LJ JOnes scored 14 points to lead the Chokes.
CONFERENCE FOE SOUTH MOUNTAIN MAKES ITS RANKING FELT:The number one ranked team in Region 1 sprinted to a 40 to 25 half-time lead over the Artichokes to capture a 75 to 54 victory. The Artichoke were lead in scoring by freshmen LJ Jones with 10 points while Jesus Mora grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 6 assists.
COCHISE COLLEGE SPRINTS BY ARTICHOKES 109-82:The Apaches of Cochise College handed the Artichokes there second staright conference loss.LJ JOnes led the Chokes in scoring with 26 points. The Artichokes played with out leading scorer Jesus Mora out with an injury.
MESA COMMUNITY COLLEGE PUTS DENT INTO CONFERENCE OPENER:The Thunderbirds of Mesa Community College gave the Artichokes its first conference lose 77-62 @Mesa to open up conference play.
ARTICHOKES DROP THREE GAMES IN THE SCOTTSDALE DAYS INN CLASSIC:The Artichokes playing 3 Nationally ranked teams lost to Howard College of Texas,Cecil College of Maryland. and #3 Indian Hills of Iowa. Next up is Mesa Community College @ Mesa in the lst conference game.
ARTICHOKES FIRST HOME GAME THANKSGIVING NIGHT IN THE DAYS INN CLASSIC: The first home game of the season for Paul Eberhardt's ballclub will be against Howard College at 7:30 p.m. Ceil Community College tips off the Classic against national power Indian Hills at 5:30 p.m.
SCC DROPS TWO GAMES AT GILA MONSTER CLASSIC: The Artichoke men's basketball squad opened the 2007-08 season with a pair of losses at Eastern Arizona's Gila Monster Classic. Scottsdale, led by junior Jesus Mora's 26 points, fell 83-57 in the opener to Odessa College. The College of Eastern Utah then defeated Scottsdale 80-77 in overtime in the final game of the tourney. Brett Miller and Jesus Mora paced the 'Chokes with 18 points each.
SCC RELEASES 2007-08 MEN'S HOOPS SCHEDULE: The 2007-08 Artichoke's men's basketball season will open at Eastern Arizona's Gila Monster Classic in Thatcher on November 9th and 10th. SCC will face Eastern Utah in the opener and Odessa (TX) College on the tourney's second day. | View the Schedule |
