MEN'S SOCCER TAKES TOUGH LOSS IN SECOND GAME OF SEASON

On Wednesday August 30th, SCC Men's Soccer lost to Arizona Western in Yuma, struggling to a 5-1 final.

SCC started off slowly by Coach Adam Berry's account, but began to play the sort of flowing soccer they practice during the second twenty minutes of the first half.

Going in to half time, the game was still in reach, tied at 1-1.

"We talked at half time", says Coach Berry, "and discussed what we had done to transform the game during the first half."

Unfortunately SCC could not continue to control the game, and two mistakes early in the second half allowed Arizona Western to take a 3-1 lead and dictate the remainder of the game, finally winning 5-1.

"We made some very elementary mistakes tonight", Coach Berry said.

"After getting ourselves back into the game and playing the sort of soccer we have worked so hard to perfect, when put under pressure we reverted to old habits and scummed to a good team."
