SCC FALLS SHORT AGAINST PHOENIX

Scottsdale failed to score in the final six seconds of the game as Phoenix College held on for an 84-82 ACCAC victory over the Artichokes.

Brian Sykora pumped in 33 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead Scottsdale.  Justin Ashbaugh nearly posted a triple double with 18 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.  Even with all of that fire power, the Artichokes were never able to take the lead in the contest.

Ira Brown lead Phoenix with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Ryan Holmes chipped in with 17 points.

Scottsdale ends the first ACCAC rotation at 5-6 record in the Conference, while Phoenix is 8-3 in the ACCAC.  The Artichokes will next take on Mesa on the road on Saturday and will return home on Wednesday with a game against the Apaches of Cochise.
