ARTICHOKE FOOTBALL NOTCHES
FIRST WIN OF 2006

After playing two of the top-10 ranked teams in the nation in the opening weeks, Scottsdale picked up its first win with a 40-27 defeat of New Mexico Military Institute.

With four blocked punts and solid offensive efforts from quarterback Joe Caskey and running back Donald Askew, SCC Head Coach Doug Madoski and the Artichokes finally had things their way.  The win makes SCC 1-0 in the WSFL standings as the opening games with Snow and Glendale were both non-conference meetings.

With a week of rest, Coach Madoski will again lead the 'Chokes into battle Saturday, September 30, at Arizona Western in Yuma.  The Artichokes look to keep the momentum going and give another solid effort.
