Fein Garners National Honor

FOUR RECEIVE NJCAA FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 1, 2006)  -?  Billy Bob Orsagh from Highland Community College (Kan.), Patrick Roberts of Fort Scott Community College (Kan.), Tony Fein of Scottsdale Community College (Ariz.) and Willie Brumbaugh of Glendale Community College (Ariz.) have been selected as NJCAA Football Players of the Week for their performances in contests through Oct. 30.

Orsagh earned Offensive Player of the Week honors, Roberts and Fein were named Co-Defensive Player of the Week, while Brumbaugh was named Special Teams Player of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Billy Bob Orsagh, Highland Community College (Kan.)
Quarterback, Eastland, Texas / Eastland High School

Against undefeated and No. 1 ranked Butler Community College, Orsagh turned in his best performance of the season. He completed 26 of 32 passes for 276 yards and four touchdowns. He also added 29 rushing yards and another touchdown. Orsagh was responsible for 30 of Highland?s total points in their 43-29 shocker over the Grizzlies.

CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Patrick Roberts, Fort Scott Community College (Kan.)
Cornerback, Ennis, Texas / Ennis High School

Roberts was named co-defensive player of the week for his performance last week against top-ranked Garden City Community College. Roberts intercepted three passes (one that was ran 58 yards for a touchdown but called back); along with four total tackles on the evening in a big win over a top ten nationally ranked team in Garden City. He also returned one punt for 18 yards.

CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tony Fein, Scottsdale Community College (Ariz.)
Linebacker, Port Orchard, Wash., South Kitsap High School

In a tough 38-23 loss to No. 5 Glendale Community College, Fein gave a performance that was truly unbelievable. He recorded 26 total tackles, three tackles for loss, one forced fumble and an interception. His 19 solo tackles and 26 total takedowns set a new Scottsdale record.  This is the second time this season the Fein has garnered player of the week honors. He earned the honor two weeks ago for his 21 total tackle performance against then No. 1 Snow College (Utah) on Oct. 15th.

SPECIAL TEAM PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Willie Brumbaugh, Glendale Community College
Punter, Glendale, Ariz. / Cactus High School

Brumbaugh helped Glendale win several battles in field position in their 38-23 win over then 17th-ranked Scottsdale last week. He punted six times for 250 yards (41.6 average) and twice pinned Scottsdale inside their own 2-yard-line.
