In the first road contests off the 2007 season for the Artichokes, Scottsdale dropped a pair in a doubleheader against El Paso (TX) CC.
In the opener, a pair of Artichoke errors led to three unearned runs and the loss for Scottsdale. Chris Neary pitched five strong innings, striking out five while allowing just one earned run. Steve Gray was 2-for-4 and Erik Miller collected two hits and drove in a pair of runs.
Brett Torrey and TJ Macy combined to throw eight well pitched innings for Scottsdale in the nightcap. The duo allowed just three hits and allowed on earned runs. Gray continued to swing the bat well as he pounded out three hits. |
