Scottsdale Battles Chandler-Gilbert to Tie

Scottsdale and Chandler-Gilbert battled to a 1-1 double-overtime tie in ACCAC women's soccer action on Monday.

Chandler-Gilbert found the back of the net first on a goal midway through the first half. It appeared that woiuld be the lone goal of the match when the clock ticked below one-minute remaining in regulation.

The Artichokes' Hali Nye found the goal to know the score and send the game into extra frames.

The tempo of the match picked up in overtime as both teams battled for the win. SCC outshot Chandler-Gilbert 9-5, but failed to convert those shots into goals as the match ended in a tie.

Commendations go out to the Lady Artichoke team for their fierce battle during OT play. The tie makes SCC?s conference record 1-9-1. Next up for the Artichokes ius a road match at Paradise Valley on Wednesday, October 12 in an effort to avenge their previous meeting loss.
