Welcome to Scottsdale Community College and the Interior Design Program. The Faculty and staff consider advisement as an integral part of your educational process. It is important that you follow the suggested path that has been presented. This path had been designed to optomize your educational experience based on your curriculum's order. As a potential design student it is important that you see the the Advisor in the Interior Design Program so that you get started on the path to success. Here are a few basic steps that you must take to get started.

• Visit the Admission & Records Department and fill out a Student Information Form.
• Placement Test     
• Each new student must take the following placement tests: English, Math, and Reading. All tests are given in the Testing Center. The results from these tests will help to place you in the appropriate class to insure your success in these areas.
• Graduation Process
• An Advisor?s signature is required upon program completion. It is important to start this process early. Meet with the advisor the semester before you intend to graduate.
• Transcript Transfer
• If you have attended other colleges and you wish to transfer credits, you must request to have your transcripts transferred to SCC?s Admissions and Records Department. Official transcripts must be sent directly from institution to institution and cannot be hand delivered or sent through your Advisor. This usually takes a few weeks depending on your previous college. The SCC Admissions & Records Department will send you a post card to confirm they have received your transcripts.
• Transcript Review
•  After you have received the confirmation postcard, you must then request an official transcript review. This process may take a few weeks. After completion you will receive a letter stating which classes are accepted by Scottsdale Community College. Submit a copy of this letter to your Interior Design Program Advisor.
