Forensic Science classes currently being offered:
FOR 105: Physical Evidence-Scientific analysis and examination of physical evidence for forensic purposes. Covers fingerprints, shoe prints, tool marks, glass, soil and mineral evidence, firearms identification, paint chips, and arson and explosive evidence. Includes the history of forensic science, functions of the crime lab and criminalist career specialties. Prerequisites: None.
FOR 106: Biological Evidence-Scientific analysis and examination of biological evidence for forensic purposes. Covers blood, bloodstains, other biological fluids and stains, hair, DNA, toxicological evidence, controlled substances and alcohol. Includes the history of forensic science, functions of the crime lab, and criminalist career specialties. Prerequisites: None.
WHY TAKE THESE CLASSES ?
FOR 105 and FOR 106 both count as an SQ science credit , which may be applied toward an associates degree or transfered to a state university.
They may also count toward the Crime Lab Science degree as restricted electives,or the Crime Scene Investigation or Crime Scene Technology certificate.
