Nizhoni at Te Papa |
" Australia and New Zealand was a life changing experience for me. I learned more about Indigenous culture on a international level and learned more about myself. Entering a new level of self discovery was the most rewarding for me. I came to appreciate indigenous culture and language more and have built lifetime friendships. My life is more fulfilled. As an American Indian Studies major this trip definitely gave me more inspiration to the field of study I'm currently pursuing and definitely broadened my level of understanding of indigenous peoples of this world. " |

We're looking for adventure seekers who value the art of storytelling and want to connect with indigenous peoples. Three SCC faculty are leading a group of 16-20 interested students to Australia where we'll live and work with an aboriginal community for two weeks.
