Make a Plan

Now that you understand the AGEC and transfer Pathway degrees you can map out a multi-semester plan to reach your transfer goal.  A plan allows you to spread your course work across the semesters in a balanced way so you don't end up with courses that would be hard to take together.

Here is a sample plan for a student who wants to transfer to ASU for a Communication degree.  The AGEC-A is required as well as COM100, COM225 and MCO120 which are marked as 'major courses' in the plan.

Graduate in May!

A plan allows you to see when you will graduate and transfer.  It also lets you see what adjustments you need to make if a course is full or if you drop a class.  In the sample above, if you could not get into MAT142 in Spring  you can swap it for a science class in fall so you will not have math and science at the same time.

It is best to work up your plan with the help of an academic advisor.  Once you have a plan the stress of choosing classes each semester is eliminated and you are ready to register early and get the best classes for your goal.

Now that you have completed the transfer tutorial you might still have questions or want to meet with an advisor to get started on your education plan.  You can ask questions via email at advisor@sccmail.maricopa.edu or call 480-423-6539 for an appointment.
