Summer Semester 2012  
Early March Students applying for summer aid will need to complete the 2011-2012 FAFSA, submit any requested documents along with an SCC Summer Financial Aid Request.
May 1, 2012 Priority filing date for new and continuing students to submit the 2011-2012 FAFSA application and any Financial Aid To Do items on the my.maricopa.edu self service site. Students who submit all required paperwork by the priority date will have their application reviewed before the tuition due date. Applications received after this date will still be considered for aid, but the student will not receive their award letter until after the start of the semester. Students who file after the priority date should be prepared to use their own funds to pay for their tuition and fees prior to the tuition due date.
May 29, 2012 Summer classes begin.
June 4, 2012 Summer Pell Census date. A student must register for all classes at SCC by this deadline to be considered in determining final Pell Grant amount for the semester. If a student registers for additional courses after this date, additional Pell Grant cannot be awarded. Consortium agreements are not accepted in the Summer, awards are based on SCC credits only. Pell awards for financial aid applications received after this date will be calculated based on the student's enrollment at the time the application is complete.
June 8, 2012 Last day to submit Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and Maximum Timeframe Appeals. Requests submitted after this date will be considered for the following semester.
June 6, 2012 Earliest date that summer Pell Grant and first disbursement of Student Loans (not including students that are 30 day delay) can be applied toward paying summer tuition and fees. Exception: Students that have later starting classes will not have aid applied until 5 days after the start of the first course.
June 8 - June 19, 2012 Estimated timeframe summer financial aid refunds for Pell Grant and first disbursement of Student Loans will be processed by Citi Prepaid Services.
June 13, 2012 Earliest date that 5 week classes for summer second disbursement of Student Loans (not including students that are 30 day delay) can be applied to a student's account.
June 25, 2012 Earliest date that 8 week classes for summer second disbursement of Student Loans (not including students that are 30 day delay) can be applied to a student's account.
June 28, 2012 Estimated date first time, first year 30 day delay loan recipients will have the spring semester loan applied toward paying spring fees and refunds will be processed by the college. You will receive notification from Citi with details to sign up for how you would like to receive your refund.
June 15 - July 3, 2012 Estimated timeframe summer financial aid refunds for second disbursement of student loans will be processed by Citi Prepaid Services.
July 19, 2012 Last day of the summer semester.

August 24, 2012 Deadline to electronically accept award notification and complete any Financial Aid To Do items (Direct Loan counseling, Master Promissory Note) to have financial aid available for earliest disbursement (exception is first time, first year 30 day delay loan recipients).

October 16, 2012 Estimated date second disbursement of fall loan financial aid refunds, for students attending only fall semester, will be processed by the college. You will receive notification from Citi with details on how you would like to receive your refund.
November 27, 2012 Last day to submit documents (tax returns, verification worksheet, etc.) needed to complete your fall 2012 financial aid file.
December 14, 2012 Last day of the fall semester.

 

Spring Semester 2013
